4th July & Water Fights!
Its been a fabulous weekend this week. Matthias had a long weekend with me and we've just been chilling out and getting things done for school and church etc. On 4th July we spent our celebrations at the Church Camp Site, which is about 20~30 minutes away from our house, where we had a ward BBQ and fundraising auction for girls camp. The auction was so much fun, we ended up getting loads of yummy cookies (and I mean loads! We're stilling eating them now!) But they definitely are the worlds best cookies I have ever tasted. And we also got (well I did!) a scarf. I know its the middle of summer and we don't really need scarves right now, but a sister from our RS made it and its so cool I just had to bid for it! So we came back home very happy with our purchases! 4th July isn't something I would normally celebrate for obvious reasons, but Matthias and I would like to wish everyone a belated happy 4th July and hope you had a wonderful time.
Our weekend of fun didn't stop with our fun auction. Yesterday Matthias and I went to Stake Deacon & Beehive Day, as I was organising it I was obliged to join in on all the fun that we had lined up for the youth. We had some cool team building games for the youth and then a water fight after lunch! So if I was going to get wet so was Matthias! :) Not that he minded at all. The day started off pretty wet and rainy, but by the time it was time for our hour long water fight, the sun came out and there was a beautiful blue sky. It was perfect weather. The youth were ready and raring to get us leaders wet. The fact that neither of Matthias and I had any water guns (although Matthias managed to get himself one!) didn't stop the youth at all. We still put up a good fight and we weren't taking any prisoners ~ especially when I had the water hose! That was great fun! You definitely know that summer is here if you've had your first water fight, that's for sure!! Although cold at the end of it and just a 'little' wet, everyone seemed to have had a blast! We sure did, even if it was because we were able to act as little kids again! :)
