Update on Family McCormick!

Over the festivities I haven't been so great at keeping our blog up to date ~ please forgive me. But I will now attempt to update you as quickly as possible without trying to bore you either.

Just before Christmas we had Mathoni come join us in icy England. We did our fair share of site seeing and going places like London and Edinburgh, Scotland, before heading off to my parents for Christmas. I had never been to Edinburgh before and realise now why I haven't. Although I loved it there, the journey was so long and it was freezing!!! I've never been to a place so bitterly cold ~ mind you, I'm sure that will change with us moving around! :) Weather aside we had a great time, discovering Edinburgh castle and many other sites it had to offer. Our trips and Christmas photo's are below.
































I have been very well with the pregnancy so far. No complications, no sickness, no pain (apart from the occasional back pain, which is to be expected I guess!) But I am extremely happy that I finally can say I actually look pregnant! Yes ladies and gentlemen, it's only taken 6 month, but finally Elodie McCormick has a bump and is very proud of it! :) The photo was taken on New Years Eve.



Not only have I been working very hard on getting a big enough bump, I've taken up hair cutting. Yes you read it correctly, hair cutting. Mind you this was all Matthias' idea. He had much more faith in me than even I did. I think he figured that if I wanted to him to look nice I would do a good job. Clever logic really, or was it? Well after nearly 45 minutes of cutting his hair, it was done and I have to admit for my first attempt it went quite well! Here is a photo of the finished product:





I should definitely go professional, don't you think!? lol Well family and friends I think that this is as exciting as it gets from us. I will keep you updated more frequently from now on, I promise ~ cheerio for now xx

Easter Fun

We really loved having a week off for Easter Break!  It was very much needed, for all of us.  I love having Noah at home.  He's such a great help and now that he's older, he's a real good buddy for me.  We have really great, grown up conversations, I love it.  We just really enjoyed family time, seeing old friends and eating lots of chocolate.  Isn't that what school breaks are all for?!  Here are a few photos of our fun. It kind of snowed.....twice

So my lovely little (or not so little) cutie pies were really excited to move here for one main reason...SNOW!  They had never seen or can remember seeing snow.  So after hearing that last years snow fall was a crazy amount and the schools were closed, they were super excited for this winter. (A lot more so than mummy, let me tell you!)  If there is one thing I have learned from moving here, although I do like it here, I DO NOT like cold weather!  I just cannot stay warm....but hey that's another story.  A few weeks back we did indeed get snow. This was the second time this year.  It was a very little but it pleased my children all the same!  They had fun in the snow till their fingers froze.  There was enough snow to make a snowman this time so they were happy. Noah's Baptism

It really is great to be 8!  Our handsome Noah has been looking forward to this day for over a year now.  In our church you are able to get baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the age of 8. We believe that Baptism is an important first step to returning back to our Heavenly Father and to be able to eventually live together forever.  (For my non LDS friends you can read more about baptism and our religion here .)  We have been planning for a few weeks some of the things he wanted and he was super excited because both his grandparents were able to visit for his special day. He was baptized on his birthday by his daddy and the given the gift of the Holy Ghost by daddy too.  We had a small gathering, but enjoyed a yummy ice cream bar afterwards, Noah's request! :) We are so proud of him.  Noah is growing up to be a fine young man, he's caring, loving, intelligent, humble, crazy (the good kind :), there is never a dull mom...
