Cooking + Bacon + Boiling Oil = DANGER!

Who would have thought cooking bacon would be such a dangerous task? Not I! We planned to have the missionaries over to help us with sanding and sealing our porch and fence. So I thought that it would be nice if I did them a traditional English breakfast...you know bacon, eggs, sausages, beans, tomatoes and mushrooms. So when Matthias' went to pick them up on Saturday morning, I started the cooking. It was all going so well, I was really pleased that the breakfast would actually be on time for them, UNTIL.....I knocked the pan that I was cooking the bacon in and it flew EVERYWHERE! I had bacon and boiling fat all over the kitchen and yes all over my arm and hand! :( Thank goodness Noah wasn't any where near it, because I ended up having to go to hospital and having it looked at. The doctor told me it was a nice 2nd degree burn. So as you can imagine my arm has been pretty sore this past week, but it's getting better every day.

Apart from my slight mishap, everything is going great. Our ward choir sang on Sunday and it went really well; they sounded great! And for the last two weeks I've had the opportunity to play the organ, so that's been fun. Matthias is doing well at work and Noah is just loving his new solid foods he's eating. Easter Fun

We really loved having a week off for Easter Break!  It was very much needed, for all of us.  I love having Noah at home.  He's such a great help and now that he's older, he's a real good buddy for me.  We have really great, grown up conversations, I love it.  We just really enjoyed family time, seeing old friends and eating lots of chocolate.  Isn't that what school breaks are all for?!  Here are a few photos of our fun. It kind of snowed.....twice

So my lovely little (or not so little) cutie pies were really excited to move here for one main reason...SNOW!  They had never seen or can remember seeing snow.  So after hearing that last years snow fall was a crazy amount and the schools were closed, they were super excited for this winter. (A lot more so than mummy, let me tell you!)  If there is one thing I have learned from moving here, although I do like it here, I DO NOT like cold weather!  I just cannot stay warm....but hey that's another story.  A few weeks back we did indeed get snow. This was the second time this year.  It was a very little but it pleased my children all the same!  They had fun in the snow till their fingers froze.  There was enough snow to make a snowman this time so they were happy. Noah's Baptism

It really is great to be 8!  Our handsome Noah has been looking forward to this day for over a year now.  In our church you are able to get baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the age of 8. We believe that Baptism is an important first step to returning back to our Heavenly Father and to be able to eventually live together forever.  (For my non LDS friends you can read more about baptism and our religion here .)  We have been planning for a few weeks some of the things he wanted and he was super excited because both his grandparents were able to visit for his special day. He was baptized on his birthday by his daddy and the given the gift of the Holy Ghost by daddy too.  We had a small gathering, but enjoyed a yummy ice cream bar afterwards, Noah's request! :) We are so proud of him.  Noah is growing up to be a fine young man, he's caring, loving, intelligent, humble, crazy (the good kind :), there is never a dull mom...
