Valentines Day!

Firstly Valentines Day isn't just any day in my family.  It's my mum and dads wedding anniversary.  They were married 31 years ago on 14th February!  I've always thought that it was such a romantic day to get married on.   So I just wanted to do a little shout out for my fabulous parents ~ the best parents in the world ~ and wish them a happy anniversary!

For Matthias and I, we like to keep things simple.  But as this was our 5th Valentines Day together I wanted to get him something a little different, instead of the usual cards, chocolates etc.  I've actually always wanted to get him a edible arrangement, but have you seen the price of those things!  Not that Matthias isn't worth it, its just they are only fruit and maybe a little bit of chocolate ~ come on people!  So anyway, determined to get him this gift I thought why not do it myself?!?!  So I set out on a mission....I bought strawberries, a pineapple, chocolate, nuts and coconut....1 hour later and this was the result.....


So I didn't think that it turned out too bad!  It doesn't look as good at the store bought ones, but I spent 1 hour of labour and love to make this and Matthias loved it, so that's the main thing!  If you want to know how I made it just check out my other blog www.thethingsidobyelle.blogspot.com

Easter Fun

We really loved having a week off for Easter Break!  It was very much needed, for all of us.  I love having Noah at home.  He's such a great help and now that he's older, he's a real good buddy for me.  We have really great, grown up conversations, I love it.  We just really enjoyed family time, seeing old friends and eating lots of chocolate.  Isn't that what school breaks are all for?!  Here are a few photos of our fun. It kind of snowed.....twice

So my lovely little (or not so little) cutie pies were really excited to move here for one main reason...SNOW!  They had never seen or can remember seeing snow.  So after hearing that last years snow fall was a crazy amount and the schools were closed, they were super excited for this winter. (A lot more so than mummy, let me tell you!)  If there is one thing I have learned from moving here, although I do like it here, I DO NOT like cold weather!  I just cannot stay warm....but hey that's another story.  A few weeks back we did indeed get snow. This was the second time this year.  It was a very little but it pleased my children all the same!  They had fun in the snow till their fingers froze.  There was enough snow to make a snowman this time so they were happy. Noah's Baptism

It really is great to be 8!  Our handsome Noah has been looking forward to this day for over a year now.  In our church you are able to get baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the age of 8. We believe that Baptism is an important first step to returning back to our Heavenly Father and to be able to eventually live together forever.  (For my non LDS friends you can read more about baptism and our religion here .)  We have been planning for a few weeks some of the things he wanted and he was super excited because both his grandparents were able to visit for his special day. He was baptized on his birthday by his daddy and the given the gift of the Holy Ghost by daddy too.  We had a small gathering, but enjoyed a yummy ice cream bar afterwards, Noah's request! :) We are so proud of him.  Noah is growing up to be a fine young man, he's caring, loving, intelligent, humble, crazy (the good kind :), there is never a dull mom...
