Snow Days!

As most of you may have heard, Britain has been experiencing the most snowfall we've had in about 20 years. I for one, was so excited to see the snow at first. I love how extra pretty it makes the fields and trees that I frequently drive by, but then, no sooner was I woken up to the real fact that, people (including myself) just don't drive in snow very well. You either get the slow snow drivers (that's me!) or the "Oh come on it's only 1cm of snow, drive normal!" drivers. The latter I am definitely not. After our near death experience last Easter when I was trying to drive Matthias and my parents to church, (only getting 1/2 a mile away from home ~ if that!) there were at least 10 car crashes! Yes 10 crashed! I couldn't believe it and was terrified to carry on driving down the NON-GRITTED road. Then all of a sudden my worst fear was becoming a realisation. There was a car from the other side of the road skidding out of control and heading straight for us. But by some small miracle (someone was really watching over us that day!) I managed to maneuver my car out of the way. I really don't remember how I did it, but it was a great piece of driving, I think even James Bond would be impressed! Anyways, after that we didn't want to continue our hair raising experience down the dreaded A11, so I turned back home. So now I have come to the conclusion that snow is great when you're at home, making snow men or snow angels and having snow ball fights. BUT when wanting to go anywhere in your car is just to hazardous to ones life!! :)

That's a beautiful picture. It makes me miss England so so much but perhaps not the A11! In Colorado we get plenty of snow and I am getting quite used to driving in it. But Colorado is so used to snow that the salt and grit are down before you ever have to worry. Take care out there!
