Happy New Year!

From the McCormick household to yours ~ we would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year! I can't believe how quickly 2009 has gone and as per usual I think I will still be writing 2009 as the date on all my cheques, journal entries and recipes for at least the next 2 months!

We had an absolutely fabulous Christmas and New Year. We didn't do too much, but just being together as a family made it special enough for us. It was Noah's first Christmas and although he wasn't sure exactly what was going on, he sure did love unwrapping the gifts to play with all the Christmas paper he got (oh and the toys!). Before we left England my parents gave me some Christmas crackers, so we were able to keep up the Christmas tradition of crackers at meal time ~ Noah loved wearing his paper hat and he informed us it tasted yummy too! :) Over the last two weeks we have discovered that all 4 of Noah's top teeth are coming through. Yes 4 at once ~ best get it over and done with in batches rather then 1 at a time, is what I say! Mind you, he has been so good and hasn't really cried or been fussy ~ I think he's just glad they're coming through so he can eat more grown-up food! :)


Anyway, Matthias had to leave us on Saturday. It was such a sad day....but we do get to talk to him on the phone, so there are some bright sides. We are all doing well and hope you had a great Christmas & New Years! Ciao for now xx

Easter Fun

We really loved having a week off for Easter Break!  It was very much needed, for all of us.  I love having Noah at home.  He's such a great help and now that he's older, he's a real good buddy for me.  We have really great, grown up conversations, I love it.  We just really enjoyed family time, seeing old friends and eating lots of chocolate.  Isn't that what school breaks are all for?!  Here are a few photos of our fun. It kind of snowed.....twice

So my lovely little (or not so little) cutie pies were really excited to move here for one main reason...SNOW!  They had never seen or can remember seeing snow.  So after hearing that last years snow fall was a crazy amount and the schools were closed, they were super excited for this winter. (A lot more so than mummy, let me tell you!)  If there is one thing I have learned from moving here, although I do like it here, I DO NOT like cold weather!  I just cannot stay warm....but hey that's another story.  A few weeks back we did indeed get snow. This was the second time this year.  It was a very little but it pleased my children all the same!  They had fun in the snow till their fingers froze.  There was enough snow to make a snowman this time so they were happy. Noah's Baptism

It really is great to be 8!  Our handsome Noah has been looking forward to this day for over a year now.  In our church you are able to get baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the age of 8. We believe that Baptism is an important first step to returning back to our Heavenly Father and to be able to eventually live together forever.  (For my non LDS friends you can read more about baptism and our religion here .)  We have been planning for a few weeks some of the things he wanted and he was super excited because both his grandparents were able to visit for his special day. He was baptized on his birthday by his daddy and the given the gift of the Holy Ghost by daddy too.  We had a small gathering, but enjoyed a yummy ice cream bar afterwards, Noah's request! :) We are so proud of him.  Noah is growing up to be a fine young man, he's caring, loving, intelligent, humble, crazy (the good kind :), there is never a dull mom...
