Being a Middle Child

This is something that I have never had to deal with; being a middle child that is!  I am the oldest child of two children and have a fantastic younger brother, who I have always gotten along with!  We were best buddies growing up and even though thousands of miles part us now, we are still the best of friends!  I really do miss being the bossy motherly and super generous older sister everyday.  Our time at home was always happy and filled with laughter and I wouldn't change being the oldest for the world!

My husband on the other hand is one of many 'middle' children.  He is number 6 of 8 children!  He has 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Yes, his parents were lucky enough to have an even split of 4 each....if only!  Even though our childhoods were different and he had a lot more siblings than me; it didn't and wouldn't have made any difference if either of us was a middle child or the oldest.  He too had a great childhood and loved being able to move around and have the experiences he had growing up.

So, why am I rattling on about middle children you ask?  Or you may have already guessed...?  Here are my lovely boys to tell you why.....

Yes our family will be growing be 2 feet November 25th (or there about).  I am officially in my 2nd trimester today at 14 weeks.  I cannot tell you how excited I am to be in my 2nd trimester, for a lot of reasons, but mainly to feel better!!  Nausea has been killing me (obviously not literally!) this time round; so much so that I've lost all my appetite, well almost all of it! :)  Now that my 2nd trimester has started I have been getting better, thank goodness!

So there you have it.  I'm not one of these people who likes just coming out with "I'm pregnant!" I don't know, its just not me.  I'd rather have someone tell people for me and since that consists of me telling someone in the first place then, well, that's not happening.  So this is the next best thing I guess!  We are all super excited for the adventures a 3rd child will bring!

Thanks Kirsty! You know I've had this debate with myself a lot. Matthias is really good and will go with whatever I decide. And I can see the pro and cons for both sides, but I think my impatience will get the better of me and we will find out! :)

Thomas ~ I thought you'd love the super generous part :P lol I wrote that just for you. Love to you and Soph xx
Congratulations and best wishes, Elodie and Family. The rest of us always wait for you to make the public announcement. Our prayers are with all of you, especially you and the baby. We are so very glad you married our son! --Papa Jim
