Trunk or Treat
At our church each year they hold a Trunk or Treat. Its such a fun event, the boys love it and I have to admit, I enjoy it too! We normally have carnival games before hand for about 45 minutes then the trunk or treat. As usual I like to do family costumes and every year, so far, we have gone with Noah's choice of theme. This year he wanted to be Darth Maul. Yes, out of all the cool super heroes or good guys our there my son wanted to be Darth Maul. Mind you, as far as bad guys go, Darth Maul is pretty cool! Anyways, Star Wars wasn't a bad theme to go with, so last week I started making costumes, Roman was going to be Obi Wan, Noah, Darth Maul and Matthias, Hans Solo. So you're probably wondering why I didn't mention my costume. I don't know, I normally do dress up for these things, but me being 36 weeks pregnant, I just couldn't think of a good enough Star Wars costume.... for all those male readers yes there may be some ideas you could come up with, with which my husband kindly suggested, jokingly I add, but yes, pregnant Leia or pregnant Amidala was not going to happen either. Instead I came up with what I thought was ingenious; a t-shirt that said "Star Wars: the force is strong with this one!". Our boot/trunk even got a space Star Wars theme, I even gave out mini light sabers (aka glow sticks). Here are the photos.
So we are going out again tonight with family! The boys just love this time of year...I'm hoping we don't get too much candy....even though my boys don't have allergies, I am a big supporter of the teal pumpkin. Anyway, Happy Halloween everyone!
The boys hadn't got any candy at this stage...that's why I'm sure they had the sad faces! :) |
In preparation we also did a bit of pumpkin painting. I thought it was best not to carve any pumpkins with a crazy, excited 5 year old and a 2 year old. They LOVED painting them though, and I have to admit so did I! (Noah told me what I needed to paint!).
