Washington DC Trip Part 3

Since moving to Maryland, we've taken a few trips to DC, this was our 3rd trip and boy did we do a lot. A lot of walking too!  Our kids were troopers!!

We first visited the Natural History Museum.  Noah and Roman have always wanted to go there after watching Night at the Museum 2! lol  As to be expected it was brilliant.  Even Zara loved seeing all the exhibits.  We started at the top and worked our way down.

This Easter Island figure was in the entrance. Roman had to have his photo taken because its his favourite character in  Night at the Museum!

My boys love dinosaurs

Ancient Egypt

This was a real mummy!!  It freaked my boys out a little! :)

Zara loved all the necklaces on display!!  I think she made us look at them twice!

Mummified ox

Tarantulas!!!

This lady was actually walking round with a huge living cockroach!!  Eww!  I think I was very brave for even getting this close for a photo!

There was a tarantula feeding which my boys wanted to watch (of course!)

Sea Life!

Roman insisted on having his photo with it! :) Love him!

Thanks to Octonauts, my boys were telling all about the deep sea creatures.  Vampire squid is one of their favourites!

Giant Squid!

This photo just makes me laugh so much!

Once we finished in the Natural History Museum we decided to take a walk down the national mall to the Air and Space Museum (our boys favourite!), Washington Monument then on to the Lincoln Memorial. It was a beautiful sunny day, but boy was it freezing!

Smithsonian Castle
Although the monument doesn't look that far away it took 20 minutes to walk there!

Capitol Building!

Cherry blossoms!!

At the Air and Space Museum we had to go find the plane that is from Matthias' Squadron.  His squadron has been active for 100 years!

The original patch!

NEVER get in the way of a girl and her mirror!  Zara wanted it all to herself! lol  We finally were able to take turns. :)

Lincoln Memorial

Beautiful views!  Took us long enough to get here but it was worth it!

On our way back we got another quick look at the White House!
It was a long day, but so fun.  We really are blessed to be living here and get to see such great things.  I love making great memories with my wonderful family.
